Peter writes:
All of the available evidence seems to be that other minority groups with grievances have identified the Palestinians with their cause here at home and therefore see American Jews as part of the oppressor/establishment.
I muse:
All of the evidence? Show us some of the "evidence." The issue is not with "American Jews" as part of the oppressor/establishment. The issue is the government of Israel. Why would minorities in our country turn against the group that has been among the most active and persistent defender of civil rights?
(And what was wrong with my mention of a t-shirt present during the Jan. 6 insurrection? It related to the question Fr. Hummel asked. But someone quickly deleted the post.)

Perhaps you should consider asking the Black Hebrew Israelites why they "turn against the group that has been among the most active and persistent defender of civil rights..."  instead of asking Pastor Speckhard.

Given the current blurring if not erasure of the line between individual and group identity in current racial theory such as Critical Race Theory, can a meaningful distinction be made between the actions of American Jews and the actions of the Jewish State of Israel? They are all Jews so American Jews can be held to be as culpable of the oppression of Palestinians as Israeli Jews. Similarly all cops are held to be culpable of the unjustified and oppressive killing and police misconduct towards all Blacks. All Whites are culpable for the oppression of Blacks. So, therefore, all Jews are suitable targets of the anger of oppressed Palestinians, and any Palestinian, even if they are currently Americans and not oppressed by Israel have a legitimate cause against any Jew they come across. Nicht so?

Lumping all Jews together as one group is pretty much the same as lumping together all Lutherans into one group.
Or lumping all white people together into one group, or all Blacks?
