The term "woke" has been used many times on this forum in the last three weeks (you can search it, as I did). It appears to be a term prized and used by conservatives, though I get a negative vibe from the usages. So if you can't stop using the term but you don't like it, I have a present for you from the humorists at the New Yorker. Early sample:
First of all, a big thank-you to all our volunteers from last night’s “If It Ain’t Woke, Fix It!” fund-raiser. The event was totally inspiring, and, per your suggestions around the drum circle, the administration will no longer be referring to our children as students. Children teach us so much every day—of course they should be called teachers!
