LIRS World Refugee Day Worship Service

A reminder that even though the US has drastically reduced the number of refugees it accepts, there is still work to be done. So we celebrate World Refugee Day with worship.

Even if we don't worship you, the stones will worship you,
if we don't shout and make noise by praising, the stones
will shout and make noise by saying you deserve praise,
respect and glory forever and ever.

And we remember that our fellow Lutherans in other parts of the world are intensely involved in caring for the needs of refugees and political exiles.
Retired ELCA pastor. Iowa born. Now in Minnesota. Say what you will about polls, but all current polls show that a significant majority of Americans agree with the things I have been saying in this modest form.

Thanks for posting this.  News that President Trump issued yet another limitation on who may enter our country is disheartening for me as a Christian.

Each year the number of refugees worldwide increases as the United States of America continues to decrease the number of refugees we  permit to enter our country,
