It is also silly to say that the most conservative Democrat senators or most liberal Republican senators are not moderates. The senate is tied 50-50. If you lined all 100 senators up from most progressive to most conservative, where would Manchin and Sinema fall? Barely to the left of the exact middle. How can that not be moderate? Only a political spectrum limited to far-left and left can provide a context for such a statement.

As a speaker I heard perhaps 40 years ago, when folks are lined up like that, even people standing next to each other will consider the one on the left to be liberal and the one on the right to be conservative even though on the whole spectrum they are very close to each other. The speaker had been LCMS and was talking in reference to the narrow range of beliefs within the LCMS compared to the much wider range among global Christianity.

Pastor Butler:
You analysis is silly.

Me:
That, of course, settles it. My head hangs low, and I am throwing ashes on my body.

Well, that's a little extreme, but you do you.

But I'm glad you see things my way.

I see that Aaron Rodgers has tested positive for COVID and is out for the game this week against the Chiefs.  So too is the third-string QB, meaning Jordan Love is the only one left.  Last week the Pack was without its top three receivers (and lost their TE to injury during the game), but still won.  This week, only one QB on roster.  Can they repeat last week's effort?

Given the way Kansas City is playing this year, probably.

Still, go KC!

This is a good example of how a media agenda plays into Covid coverage. It isnít that they always lie, it is that they decide what to report with an agenda, and they gather the facts to report on with an agenda.

Then add  a healthy amount of TDS, and it completes the lib recipe.

As the Beatles famously sang it, "All You Need is Love."

Less than love emanating toward Rodgers, however, for his summertime lie about his status.  When asked "are you vaccinated," he replied "Yes......I've been immunized."  So that's a No.  Only he said "Yes" first.  Watching ESPN this morning, the thing is everybody in the Green Bay organization knew about this.  And the protocols in place for the NFL were not followed.  So fines and draft picks lost loom on the horizon, none of which really matters because it's about winning and losing.  Love - Adams - Touchdown!

Rodgers is a health freak about his body. What they're genuinely upset about is that he stood on the sidelines in preseason games without a mask. The Active players didn't need to wear a mask, but inactive players did. But since preseason games don't have official active/inactive lists it is a gray area.

People are mad that he did interviews unmasked. So? Are you saying that if he were vaccinated that he could do that, but not is he is not vaccinated? Why? This shows the degree to which Covis protocols involve so much performance theater. It would be as though someone in the church Dick talked about at Reformation had a bad knee and only crouched down a little for the hymns rather than sitting and standing back up but told everyone he was following the protocols. The protocols are pointless and stupid. That much can't be disputed. As to whether this or that person always went along with them, I don't anyone really cares for reasons of health. They care for reasons of virtue signalling and showing compliance.

That having been said, Love is a many splendored quarterback.

Aaron Rodgers is 37 years old and he does not have the fitness
regimen of a Tom Brady.  Rodgers is not a team-first guy but
is a self-centered fellow who has not taken Covid 19 seriously.
The Green Bay front office knew that he was not vaccinated
but tried to keep that information hidden from the other players.
The cover-up is not a good policy.

Doesn't this just scrape the bark off the entire anti-Trump movement?  There is a reason memes persist showing Trump with Kathy Griffin, the Clintons, etc. at parties.  Or on Oprah.  Hollywood loved Trump when he was one of them.

He is an easy foil, and that is the problem Republicans have.  Letting him control the narrative puts his person -- and all its warts -- at the front of the conversation.  But when Van Jones talks about "Trumpism" what he means is blue collar, working class conservatism.  That's what they hate.  And because no one can reasonably compare Glenn Youngkin, a devout Christian, to Trump, a charlatan, Jones finds it far more problematic.

Instead of asking why blue collar, working class people with traditional values are leaving the Democratic party, Jones seeks to erase better spokesmen for the movement by smearing them with the "T-word."  It's the same reason, as I said in the other thread, they call Winsome Sears winning the Lt. Governor job in Virginia as a victory for "white supremacy."  It isn't about the person.  It isn't about their heart.  It's about the fact that in order for their brand of leftism to win, they need a foil.  Lacking one, they simply erect a strawman and flog away.

Not sure that's true about his fitness regimen, which he's taken more and more to (not simply in terms of exercise, but the holistic thing), but definitely true about some of the other stuff. The question is, from a health standpoint it doesn't matter. This is what I mean about performance theater. Put on that mask, not to make anyone safer but to prove you're taking Covid seriously. The protocols call for segregating the vaccinated and the unvaccinated at meals and other times. Why? Who is made safer by the policy, and to what meaningful degree? It's all about wanting to stigmatize the unvaccinated. Plus, the protocols are all designed to make sure everyone knows who is vaccinated and who isn't. If, as is the case with Rodgers, his real beef was the privacy aspect (I'm told when asked if he was vaccinated he sometimes asked the questioner if they had any STD's) then the segregation of vaccinated and unvaccinated was a bigger problem than the vaccine itself. It is a violation of the personal.

So yeah, they agreed to some protocols and should have followed them.

Good use of "cover-up," Dave.  Covering up while uncovered.  Paradoxical, ergo Lutheran

https://pjmedia.com/vodkapundit/2021/11/04/italy-reduces-covid-19-deaths-by-a-whopping-97-n1529706

Italy's Health Department has changed the way it tabulates Covid deaths. Someone with Covid who gets hit by a car and dies is no longer counted as death "with" Covid. The mere fact of being infected with Covid is not longer presumed to be the cause of death. They now only tabulate death "from" Covid, meaning that the virus was determined to be the cause of death and not merely a possible contributing factor. The change has reduced the country's official Covid death toll by 97%.

Makes sense.

COVID is so endemic it is appearing in white-tailed deer and other mammillians.

No state Game Commission is seriously considering testing harvested deer for COVID and then attributing that as the COD.
