I just watched the archived livestream. The amendment to move ordination to the end of the program failed. 6-03A passed as presented by the committee... asking for study on moving ordination to the end (among other things) and basically leaving the SMP program unchanged for now.

Correct. That is my understanding as well. It was a little hard to follow what was going on because you had amendments to an amended resolution and ALPB HQ has become a popular hang-out place. In fact, I believe your dear mother was part of the problem. She started talking with Navy Chaplain Ryan Rupp about all the military folks in your family and when you get Ryan telling stories....

Ok. So now I am not only botching names and spellings I am messing up family relations. Mark's mom was not my "disruptive visitor", although she is probably a very nice lady capable of disrupting me. It was Kathy Schulz, Managing editor of Good News whose son Paul is a pastor. Apologies all around.

Incidentally, If my memory is right (a dubious proposition by this point), Good News is a high quality publication published by Kathy's Husband, Wallace Schultz. I used to do research for them as a seminary reference librarian back in the late 90s. Oh the things we forget as we age...

LOL - there are a lot of people named “Schulz” in the LCMS. In fact, there are three rostered pastors named “Mark Schulz” (the last time I checked). I awkwardly received a Divine Call once that was meant for one of the others...
