Somehow language related to faith and religion comes on to the scene when football is the topic.  The NY Times Business section page today ran a story on the NFL's biggest prize, team ownership.  One comment was that "the meek may inherit the earth, but you have to be a billionaire to own an NFL team."  Another comment was:  "when you're buying a team, you're not only making a deal between you and the seller, you also have to get the blessing from the NFL."

Some local churches are reaching out to the many visitors who are coming to Minneapolis for the Super Bowl. Church mission work is always to be commended but it is going to be a difficult effort.  Bars are open until 4 am and there is a mighty range of entertainment for the out-of-towners to choose from.

The Super Bowl MVP was the second string quarterback Nick Foles who replaced the injured QB Carson

There is jubilation throughout the Ministerium of Pennsylvania!  Contrary to popular reporting (I do find the apocalyptic expectations amusing), the greater Delaware Valley is not a smoldering ruin this morning.

Our (backup) quarterback is better at catching (touchdown!) passes than the other team's starting quarterback.  If you watched the postgame podium interviews, it was obvious that Jesus wanted the Iggles to win.   

The master couldn't get it done in 13 years; it only took the student 2.  The time's yours!

It was a great thrill to have been at US Bank Stadium for Super Bowl LII..  I was able to watch much of the game.  I did not see the Half Time Show because of work requirements and my indifference to pop music.  The fans were incredibly polite and friendly.  One man brought his wife and two kids and said that he had paid $56,000 for the four seats.  The stadium crowd was slow to disperse after the game which extended my time on the clock.  Eagles players thanked God and expressed their devotion to Him. It was serious emotion on display.  FWIW: I clocked 14 hours at seventeen bucks an hour.  The last five or six hours were at $24.00 per hour. Parking and uniforms were free. I am tired.

Norm had a great day at the office.   He made a $136 for the first 8 hours of work
and $144 for the last 6 hours for a total of  $280 for 14 hrs work. The NFL Super
Bowl of 2018 has been very good to him.  As the late, great Howard Cosell said,
"Sports is the Toy Department of Life".

Way to go, Norman!
I watched the whole game, was glad that the Eagles won, even though they were the ones that kept the Vikings out of it.
But the Super Bowl party that I attended, while it had many things to nibble on, had no wings! What’s up with that?
We will probably find time to get together sometime later this year, Norman.
