Not "heard," but "seen." With my own eyes. Seeing the real thing in Florence is absolutely amazing. (And the Uffizi Gallery has Cranach's small Martin and Katie Luther portraits.) In Florence, you stand in the piazza where Savonarola preached and was executed.
I was there for a week one February and would gladly go back for another week. With books on the Medici, to be sure.

Yes!  My last deployment as a Navy Chaplain with the Marines allowed me to stand on the same stage in Ephesus where Paul once stood.  It was very moving in a humbling sort of way...

Because being circumcised or not has nothing to do with sexuality. So to mention circumcision is not to bring "sex" into the discussion.

Circumcision has nothing to do with sex. The issue was about how accurate might Michelangelo's sculture of David be to the real David. Since he is wrong about circumcision, he could be just as wrong about the physique and facial features. It's more likely that "David" more closely resembles the model he used than the actual David.

Good, because that would open up a whole other sexual topic - and completely derail the train of this subject.

I don't have a dog in this fight, but to echo some of the root causes of this shameful situation.

Roman Catholic priests can find places to serve, but they get a rectory and whatever stipend they can generate from Masses, etc.  By and large they have no family to support.

Adding the CRM to the parish as assistant pastors is a noble goal, but who is going to pay their support?  Being a worker priest myself, I know first-hand that many more congregations cannot afford a solo pastor, much less an assistant.

Another area no one is discussing is that our congregational piety means there is no Bishop to close down or merge congregations that are not functional or able to financially support their pastor.

I offered such a congregation a 2 point arrangement in an urban setting.  Since my congregation has not been able to provide me with a full salary and benefit package, I proposed sharing myself with the other congregation, as they are at the point where they cannot support a pastor either.  I made my proposal through the Circuit Visitor with the full-knowledge of my leadership.  I never heard from the congregation, but know that they are being served by retired clergy in the area.  Apparently, the congregational leadership is so divided amongst themselves that they are likely to fight their congregation into closing.  So sad.

This CRM situation is so multifaceted that it defies a solution brought on by a Convention Resolution.

It's too bad the Roman Catholic Bishops won't receive our clergy as there are plenty of altars that could use a priest on a regular basis.

Padre Dave, some years ago a Roman Catholic priest friend said he had to cut a couple of week-day masses out of the schedule during two weeks of the summer vacation period because he couldn't find priests to do them. I volunteered, but nothing came of it. 
This guy, BTW, preached a couple of "saved by grace through faith" sermons that were among the best I've ever heard.

Funny, I too offered to assist a local Roman parish some years ago, but my offer was not taken up....pity....and I would've gladly forfeited any stipends attached to the Masses I said.....
