What about ad homonym attacks?  What if I said, "Mark my words.  Mark is off the mark?"   :o

Barring any other information, he would not be brought before the ecclesiastical bar, but would still be in fellowship at bars, from which Lutherans are not barred.

Let me ask you where I ever said the conservative takeover of the LCMS was "bad," except that it took that church body a direction I find troubling. It is generally agreed by all but the most wooden-headed apologists that many of the tactics of the Preus faction smelled rather like Chicago politics of the 1915-1939 era. ...

Now ducking and running, covering my ears against the impending howls.

You might read what you wrote after the first comma. It is something common to your posts here on ALPB Forum Online where, by the time you have completed a sentence or thought, you have again committed the very thing you denied doing.

One of the really dumb-rumped aspects of this thread is the thought that "removal" is the only discipline, punishment, consequence or whoopdoodle involved in not meeting certain "expectations."

Curiously, the only person on this forum I see consistently describing "discipline" in this way is Pastor Stoffregen, who keeps introducing the notion in order to then dismiss it.

Or, maybe not so curiously, as it tends to divert the conversation from the acts that disrupt our fellowship.

Oh come on, Steven...  You obviously miss our dear brother's "whimsy."  I mean, "dumb-rumped..."  Pure whimsy and good clean fun!   ;)

As one who is, admitted a "dumb-rump" and tends to get things "bass-ackwards" all I can do is laugh!
