Marie are you or your husband a voting delegate?
Or will you be sitting in the peanut gallery with
observers and guests?  How many Synodical
conventions have you attended?

I will be a voting delegate.

This will be the 9th that I have attended, three times in the peanut gallery, three times as a member of the Committee for Convention Nominations and twice as a delegate.

ANNOUNCEMENT: The Coin-o-nia Project

Phase I: The first draft of TSL (Totally Sanctified List), my personal election recommendations for the next LCMS Convention. You may have your name removed for a cash contribution. Failure to do so will destroy your political hopes.

Or, if you think they are trying to pull the wool over your eyes or do a bait-and-switch scam with this reconciliation effort....
Con-o-nia.

Well, David Domsch, writing for Daystar Journal is sending a powerful message of those who oppose the incumbent:
"President Harrison should be impeached immediately.  Failing that, he should be limited to a single term in office, replaced by an individual who has the competence, theological strength and pastoral understanding to lead the LCMS."
From: http://www.thedaystarjournal.com/

And Dr. Becker (also connected with Daystar), whose initial reaction to the Newtown issue:
"I would hope that this latest action by Rev. Harrison would be sufficient to lead LCMS electors to remove him from the office of president and to replace him with someone who is wiser and more evangelical, or at least more caring toward pastors who must face extremely difficult, challenging situations of pastoral care. Maybe someone more like Dr. Kieschnick?"
From: http://matthewlbecker.blogspot.com/2013/02/harrisons-latest-offenses.html

Don't have to guess where they're coming from....

Sorry....guess I should have caught up with the current discussion on the other thread on the Public Role of the Pastor in the Community before posting.  I'm already a little behind.

Having a pastor occupy the presidential office in the LCMS has been a disaster!  We need a complete political hack who is well-schooled in leadership.

That really hurts coming from my 2010 campaign manager. Ouch!

LCMS persons associated with the ALPB have also gathered for coffee at synodical conventions. Anyone else here attending the 2013 LCMS convention?  I'll bake cookies for a get together.  :)

Marie

Marie, we will finally get a chance to meet in person.  I will be in attendance as Pastoral Delegate from my Circuit in Sunny Phoenix, Arizona, and ex-officio as the ALPB Western USA Representative sharing all things Lutheran Forum and Forum Letter and sharing the good news.

So, here begins the drama.  The last time I was a Pastoral Delegate I had changed mailing addresses and as a result all of the deeply influential and intellectual materials addressed to me were left in the undeliverable mail for lack of forwarding payment by their senders.  This year, my domicile address remains stable so I await (?) all of the materials attempting to educate my votes at the Convention and cause me to vote their way.  Lists?  I don't need no stinkin' lists!

I'll be there covering for Forum Letter and this online forum. Once I get an itinerary figured out I'll try to set something up. I'm assuming the ALBP will splurge for a grand ballroom with open bar.
