Mr. Teigen, I'm not sure whether you believe you are espousing the position of the Evangelical Lutheran Synod, or whether these are your own opinions.  The Missouri Synod has some excellent resources for appropriate involvement of the Church and church people in the area of God's Kingdom of the Left, or Kingdom of Power.  A book by the Commission on Theology and Church Relations entitled "Render Unto Caesar" might be of some help.

As to the participants on the program, as one who has been involved locally and in Washington through the years on the topics to be addressed, this group will do just fine!

Mr. Teigen is putting forth his own views as the ELS and WELS Presidents joined President Harrison in signing "An Open Letter on Religious Freedom."

Who is the king of the left hand kingdom? Is he someone irrelevant? Whether he is Satan or Christ, the Church has something to say on the subject either way.

It is God's Realm of the Left - "the earth is the Lord's and the fulness thereof; the heavens and all that dwell therein."  The reality of sin, death and the devil make that realm a battleground for justice and equity for believers in God, but do not allow for believers an option that the world is ruled by the devil, no matter the level of evil.
