The second reading for this Sunday in the RC lectionary is 1 Cor 10-13, 17. There in Corinth, the separate groups were those belonging to Paul, to Apollos, to Peter, and to Christ. Nowadays, the names are different, the barriers erected are much higher, people have (in their minds) more to lose by ending their rivalries.

I think Saint Paul would be even more passionate in urging that there be no divisions among us now than he was in pleading with the Christians in Corinth.

Do any of you have that text set for tomorrow?

Peace,
Michael

Yes, we do. (Using LBW and Revised Common Lectionary.) I notice that the LSB has the same, so there will be lots of Lutherans hearing Paul's words.

Peace, JOHN
