Prayer Requests
« on: November 30, 2010, 10:26:40 PM »
I'm starting a new thread hopefully people will use it to post specific prayer requests that forum members can put into their daily prayers if they so wish.

I'll start.

I'm asking for prayers for my sister Margaret age 46; in Thanksgiving for Christ's Greatest Gift of Salvation and if it is God's will for the fringe benefit of a miracle.     Six and a half years ago she was given 18 months and now her cancer has advanced so there are too many spots in her lungs to count and she is rapidly going downhill.  She has an 8 year old daughter and a pretty good husband and they will need help coping.

Best to all
James

Thank you for starting this thread.  My prayers are ascending for your dear sister . . . it is surely a reminder to us all of how precious Life truly is.  I can't even imagine what your brother-in-law and niece must be experiencing.  I pray you'll be a source of comfort to them.

Yes, its nice to see a positive thread here - one in which hopefully no one will begin an argument.  Prayers being offered...

My mother-in-law, June Solberg, 90, is approaching death after four years of late-stage Alzheimer's. Please pray for a peaceful passing; we expect it very soon.

Richard, may the peace of Christ surround you and your family. Altzheimer is such a horrible thing, we watched my father-in-law go through it. It is like losing them twice, when the Lord finally takes them home.

God bless.

Lord, Thee I Love with All My Heart

1 Lord, Thee I love with all my heart;
I pray Thee, ne’er from me depart,
With tender mercy cheer me.
Earth has no pleasure I would share.
Yea, heav’n itself were void and bare
If Thou, Lord, wert not near me.
And should my heart for sorrow break,
My trust in Thee can nothing shake.
Thou art the portion I have sought;
Thy precious blood my soul has bought.
Lord Jesus Christ, my God and Lord, my God and Lord,
Forsake me not! I trust Thy Word.

2 Yea, Lord, ’twas Thy rich bounty gave
My body, soul, and all I have
In this poor life of labor.
Lord, grant that I in ev’ry place
May glorify Thy lavish grace
And help and serve my neighbor.
Let no false doctrine me beguile;
Let Satan not my soul defile.
Give strength and patience unto me
To bear my cross and follow Thee.
Lord Jesus Christ, my God and Lord, my God and Lord,
In death Thy comfort still afford.

3 Lord, let at last Thine angels come,
To Abr’ham’s bosom bear me home,
That I may die unfearing;
And in its narrow chamber keep
My body safe in peaceful sleep
Until Thy reappearing.
And then from death awaken me,
That these mine eyes with joy may see,
O Son of God, Thy glorious face,
My Savior and my fount of grace.
Lord Jesus Christ, my prayer attend, my prayer attend,
And I will praise Thee without end.

James and Richard, prayers ascend to the Healer of all our disease, the Destruction of death, the Resurrection of our bodies!

Read the request and prayers are being made.  May the God of peace give you all strength and a sense of His presence during these times.

Prayers for a very good friend of mine, Pr. Al Majewski (St. Paul, Manito, IL - LCMS), and his family, would be greatly appreciated.  Al is in critical condition at Saint Francis Hospital in Peoria, IL due to liver failure, and the family was informed yesterday that his chances are not good.  I'm making the trip down to see him tomorrow and spend time with the family, so prayers for safe travel are coveted as well.

I echo the thanks of others for starting this thread, James.

Last Wednesday on the way to Thanksgiving Eve services church Dr. Barbara Brunworth suffered a massive heart attack. She died Monday.  Some on this list will recognize her name as one of the women who particpated in the recent CTCR consultations that resulted in "The Creator's Tapestry."  Barb was a graduate of Seward, an astute student of the Bible and a family and marital counselor.

Pray for her husband, children and grandchildren as they grieve their loss and prepare for tomorrow's funeral service in Dallas.
